Soaring with the Eagle

A unique feature at Eagles Nest Golf Club is its Heliport, sitting high above the course, overlooking the stunning Clubhouse. The heliport meets and exceeds the stringent design requirements set by Transport Canada and is published in the Canada Flight Supplement as a registered heliport.

The heliport is available as a convenient luxury for guests of Eagles Nest. Eagles Nest requires advanced notification by all air operators before any arrivals or departures will be permitted. Eagles Nest Golf Club's Heliport features a large circular asphalt landing area with the Eagles Nest logo integrated with the aviation markings to provide visual guidance to pilots. The pad is lit with a series of inset green lights that outline the pad and clearly delineate the landing area during the evening and low-visibility operations. In addition, the facility is serviced by a lighted windsock and floodlighting, to provide adequate lighting for the arriving guest, and a strobe beacon to assist pilots to pinpoint the heliport from afar. As an added feature, Eagles Nest has also interconnected a lighted cart path for convenient transportation to and from the heliport and clubhouse.

Another unique feature of the facility is the option for pilots to operate the lighting systems remotely from their cockpits. Once activated, the lighting system remains energized for a prescribed amount of time before requiring re-activation by the pilot.
