DESCRIPTION:
• Prepare food and maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen
• Prepare, season, and cook, (by appropriate method as specified and laid out by management) food products
• Prepare fast, simple food: sandwiches, eggs, fries, burgers
• Work on many orders at once, getting them all out as quickly as possible
• Follow tasks and instructions in a timely and safe manner, as shown from a senior staff member
• Perform duties within the framework of business standards and procedures defined by the corporate management as well as within the framework of directives and regulations defined by the kitchen management
• Demonstrate oral and written communication, productivity, perseverance, Guest Focus, good judgment, and punctuality
• Demonstrate basic practical and theoretical, culinary knowledge
• Prepares, seasons, and cooks, (by appropriate method as specified and laid out by management) food products, ensuring proper cooking techniques are used and adhered too
• Prepare orders as required
• Maintain a positive and professional approach to everything that is done, including attitude towards fellow employees, management, and guests
• Anticipate misconceptions or confusions and correct them before they become problems
• Use kitchen equipment, in proper manner, taking care not to abuse or misuse any of it
• This position is classified as safety sensitive, defined in accordance with our fit for duty program
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to understand, read and follow recipes
• Knowledge in use of use fryers, grills, microwaves, and other industrial cooking apparatus as asset
• Ability to stand on your feet for long periods and lift heavy objects from storage
• Ability to take initiative and work well independently
EXPERIENCE:
• Restaurant Cook: 1 year (preferred)
LICENCE/CERTIFICATION
• Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
